I am not sure what tgz stands for. Perhaps something to do with a tarballed zip. I have heard words such as these but I am not familiar with what they mean.

I am lucky enough to have my own Linux server which means that I can un zip the download if I use the command line of that server. However, since I usually work on my windows computer, it would be very nice if there were also a zip version available.

Winzip or WinRar handle tar.gz file without any trouble. Being and Open Source project we tend to push the open source way of doing things first.

One version fits all for now.

Thanks very much.

I am such a nincompoop that I was under the impression that file names with a dot in them were not allowed. There are lots of dots in the file name and they are not causing problems (ATutor1.4.tar.gz). I was able to decompress using both Winzip and ZipGenius, my unzipper of choice since while not open source, it is free.

A couple of points about this forum
I am still finding that there are about 25 whitespace characters at the head of the forum. I spent about an hour responding to your kind responses but found that I was redirected to the front page when I submitted my posts to this forum because I am using my other Japanese login name and that causes the span tags at the top of the page next to the login information to crash and thus prevents my submitting response to the forums using that name. I forgot about those problems and logged in using that Japanese name. I am now using my "tim" login name which works. There is still a bit of garbling at the top next to the login information but not so severe.
