Hi All,
a nice feature would be to allow import/export of questions. Reason: I have a development system for content. I export the content to the production system. I would like to do the same with questions.
Regards
Alex

rather than exporting content via export functionality you could make a backup of a course and create a new course based on that backup in the development system

manage -> backups -> create (then download) and
manage -> backups -> upload

I use this all the time.. smile

Hi Vegard!

Now that's it!

Many thanks
Alex

btw: what means "Note: You are currently restricted to 5 backups per course."

why is this? do I have to purchase the premium versionto make more backups of a course? ;-) or does it mean max 5 backups at the same time in the list?

I've already postet once something similar:
see:
www.atutor.ca/view/7/8333/1.html

But now I've found a way to do it, but it is only use to modify the questions (ex: For translation):

1. In Atutor create a Backup: Manage ->Create
2. Download the Backup and unzip the file
3. Open file tests_questions.csv with notepad and replace all ,(space) with --- ->Save the file
4. Open Excel sheet and go to Data, External Data, Import Textfile (I hope it's correct because my Excel is in german)
5. Select tests_questions.csv
6. Select Separatet -> Continue
7. Select as separator , ->finished -> OK
8. replace all: --- with ,(space)
9. Save as Excel -> Close
10. Translate
11. Open File after translation
12. Save as tests_questions.csv
13. Open tests_questions.csv with notepad
14. Replace all ; (Semicola) with ,
15. Save
16. Zip all files without subdirectories (do not include Directorie path)
17. Import by ATutor

Hello everyone,

I am new to atutor. And i am trying to make an application where i am exporting courses from atutor and then importing it to my database. But the only drawback with this is that i am not able to get any test or question part imported. can anyone help me on this on how to export the test parts or question parts from atutor so that i can add even those to my database.
Thanks in advance..

The Format of the csv Files in the ziped File are verry simple, because it is just a text file. The Procedure I've discribed bevore is just to modify the content, but it can be importet in other courses (tryed at ATutor version 1.5.3.3). If you can create a program witch makes it more simple to export to Excel and back ore make it even possiple to add some questions, I am verry interested to it.

Something imortent:
The ziped file must have no subdirectorys and containing all files of the root of the original file.

I hav created a sample course. In which i added few questions also. Now i tried to create a backup for the course. the procedure is as follows for what i did? manage->backup->create->download. i got the zip file in my machine. then i am trying to import that file to my database but it gives imsmanifest.xml not found. I can't understand whr the problem occurs. I want to add the tests and survey part also in my database but not able to that as it does not get exported. what can i do for this problem??

Can you check if the ZIP File is not enpty. (just unzip it) I hade this on ATutor 1.5.3.2 . If that is the case, make a second backup without deleting the first one and try with that one. In my cas it was running OK.

If you are getting an imsmanifest missing error, your are importing the backup in the wrong place. Import the backups using the backups tool, rather than content import.

See the handbook.

Hi Lakshmi
On the Link I've just found the php.ini
The reason why I ask for your TAR file is, becaus when I do Backups as zip files an I have no problems with it.
Can you upload the TAR file, so I can see how it si build inside.
