Hello. I just went through the 1.6.3 demo and here were some observations.....
* Nice job on the social networking component
* I didn't see the CAPTCHA on the register page. Maybe it was just disabled for the demo?
* Couldn't get the LaTeX to display. I tried: $\displaystyle \frac{x}{4y} = \frac{y}{4z}$, find the value of $3y^4 - 3(xz)^2 + 3$
It didn't show on content pages or test/surveys.
* The multi-file uploader in File Manager still doesn't work.

Also, I would LOVE to see the following features implemented in the final 1.6.3 release...
* A way to annotate images (and even other documents) within ATutor.
* Implement the ability to do fill in the blank questions
* The ability to close content (similar to how you can have a Test/Survey open for a period of time). Also, the ability to have the content open/close on a recurring schedule.
* Allowing the instructor access to the "My Files" area. This would be useful for K-12 implementations.... maybe this could be an option that the admin. could set?

Thanks again for your efforts with this project. ATutor has been very useful for me thus far.

You have to switch the "Enable CAPTCHA" on under admin, i have just done that.

LaTex, it has to be wrapped [tex][/tex]. Check the documentation.

Harris,

I see that there is a Captcha area now, but this page did not show the Captcha pic.: www.atutor.ca/atutor/demo163/registration.php?register=Register

Yes, the LaTeX does work when wrapped in [tex][/tex] tags.

By the way, do you think many (any?) of the things I listed in my "wishlist" could be a part of the final 1.6.3 release?

Thanks.

Apart from bug fixes and minor feature adjustment, we're in a code freeze for 1.6.3. Any new features would need to go in the next release.

FYI, you can do fill in the blank with one word open ended questions.

Greg,

Thanks for the info.

For fill in the blank, I meant something where it would be corrected automatically like how multiple choice questions are.

Any chance that could be a part of 1.6.3?

Thanks.

No new features would make it into 1.6.3. Automarked fill in the blank is fairly complex to create.

Greg,

1.6.3 Build r8648 is looking good. Just a few things I noticed on a G4 installation (appended):
# CAPTCHA's radio button isn't working;
# A warning appears on each courses' home page: mysql_fetch_assoc(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in .../ATutor/index.php on line 94;
# There is a pseudo randomization of test question/surveys. The first viewing under ..../tools/my_tests.php give the same order as in Manage>Tests&Surveys>Preview. However, if you click the back arrow and then revisit the page the question order is changed. Not sure if it is related but I sometimes get an error when attempting to add questions to an existing test/survey: ....ATutor/include/classes/UrlRewrite/UrlRewrite.class.php on line 87

Best wishes,

Ian

Hello,

1. Which CAPTCHA's radio button?
2. It has a warning message when you simply update the system (append). Try a fresh install and it should be fine.
3. I will look into the pseudo randomization.

Hi,

1. Resolved {Several radio buttons under Administration>System Preferences radio buttons are not working - CAPTCHA, Enable Mail Queue, and Automatically Install New Language Packs Automatically Install New Language Packs (most like a local firewall/network issue but I'm wondering if CAPTCHA couldn't be set on as the default?)}
2. Fresh installation didn't solve the mysql_fetch_assoc()warning
3. Thanks for looking into the question/survey order issue.

Regards,

Ian

I'm unable to reproduce this problem. Can you try reinstalling, and if that doesn't work, provide more details so we can reproduce the problem.

Hi,

I need the steps to reproduce this. The code itself seems fine from the error message. Thanks.
