Problem with open ended answers in Atutor 1.6.3

| Things to describe: Operating system ATutor is installed on - Fedora 9 ATutor version -1.6.3 ATutor theme name - Bluetabs1 PHP version - 5.2.8 MySQL version - 5.0 Webserver & version - apache 2.0 Web browser being used - Firefox 3.5.6 I had conducted a open ended test yesterday under the "Test and Survey" Option. Students from different places answered the test and they got a message "action completed successfully" after answering 10 questions on a random basis from a databse of 200 questions. When I tried to see the answers by clicking on the Submission button, I could see only "10 questions" without any answer for all of the students. I read the forum threads and realised that it was a bug that was fixed long back. www.atutor.ca/view/7/11271/1.html www.atutor.ca/view/7/11527/1.html So my Atutor version was bug free. Later from the forum discussion I also realised that theme has also to do something with the open ended results being visible or invisible. I changed the theme to Atutor1.5 default and again conducted a trial test for myself. It worked and the answers were visible. The problem is that already all of my students have written the test from distant places and is not possible to repeat the test again. Is there any way to retrieve those answers. | It sounds like the theme is outdated. You can probably fix the problem by deleting the open question result template from the theme /themes/[theme_name]/test_questions/long_result.tmpl.php It will then revert to the template in the default theme, which does include the answers. You probably don't need any of the question templates in that theme, so its probably safe to delete them all. Move them out of the way first, to make sure things don't break, then if all looks good, delete them. Posted: 2010-01-03 13:48:32 | ||

| I changed the theme to Atutor default and then conducted a trial open ended test. The answers are saved and "It works". However, I cannot see the old answers that were submitted before changing the theme. Can I somehow, retrieve them. I tried to open mysql data base - atutor and executred the following command select * from AT_tests_answers I could see the new answers that were written after changing the theme (trial answers). | If the answers are not in the database, then they are probably not retrievable. Posted: 2010-01-04 08:55:57 | ||
