Error
Unable to connect to database server.

I have installed many PHP progs with no issues...What gives with this message?

It's the first time I have seen the need for a port number.

Use port 3306, the mysql default port. Unless you have defined it as some other non-default port.

If you are still unable to connect, be sure you mysql login information is correct.

Subject: Created dbuser and password using external tools?Quote this post in your reply
As I said else where, the install makes it look like ATutor will create the user and password. This is not the case. One has to first create a database user and password with CPanel, Webmin, the linux command line or whatever. In webmin and the command line there is the added problem of deciding what privelidges to give the user. I followed the example of another dbuser I have on my system, but I think that the installation guide should mention the type of user that is required, if this is not the case already.
