| if XAMMP is running properly you can access it in a browser with localhost/ or 127.0.0.1/ note that the atutor folder must be placed in the htdocs folder to be accessible. Posted: 2008-05-22 05:26:38 | ||

| You have to have an IP address assign by your network manager if you want to using something other than 127.0.0.1 When that's done, you don't have to do anything in ATutor, assuming Apache is configured properly. You may need to adjust the value of ServerName in the apache conf/apache/httpd.conf file. ATutor will automatically use the IP address you were assigned. Posted: 2008-05-22 13:00:58 | ||

| to ask differently: what do you wish to do? do you want to check out Atutor on your local machine? if so, why can the domain not be named "localhost" or "127.0.0.1"? you will be the only one to see it. does this not work? what happens if you type localhost in the address bar in your browser? XAMMP and similar "local server" tools are mostly used by developers, or people who wish to explore the inner workings of something, if you just want to check out how Atutor works, use the demo server instead! www.atutor.ca/atutor/demo.php Posted: 2008-05-23 08:54:37 | ||

I have checked the localhost is OK. I want to show the atutor for the client computer. Therefore I must show the atutor by IP address. Posted: 2008-05-25 21:35:48 | ||
