Menus with left-alignment?

I really like the menu system, along with bread-crumbs then a large e-learning site will still be easy to navigate through.

I assume the right alignment of the menus has to do with the User's ability to select or expand different menus. That said, how easy would it be for us to configure Atutor with left-aligned menus? Our usability studies show that users tend to expect a left-hand menu bar.

The menu can be on the right or left.

From a usability perspective a right aligned menu is more usable, being closer to the browser's scroll bar. If a user prefers it on the left, they can move it.
